Hold the Volume Up + Home + Volume Down + Power keys while pressing the Power button to switch to the Settings screen and enter the Display section. Now click on Brightness.

All you have to do is change the brightness slider to a maximum of 7 by tapping on the slider. But for the above image it would be maximum of 8 to 7, which is the standard brightness.

But you should be able to go the extra mile and set the brightness manually via the app.

To use the App Manager in any of the devices running Android 4.0 or above, just install the App Manager app from the Play Store.

You would need to enable the flashlights feature by heading to the Settings section in the App Manager app.

You will then see a flashlights section that shows the battery, Wi-Fi and hardware.

To set brightness in any of the apps by using the App Manager’s features, all you need to do is go to the App Manager settings section and find the Flashlight. This feature works just like the App Manager’s Power button settings where you are able to adjust the brightness of any app by pressing on the Volume Down + Home + Power keys simultaneously.

It’s that simple and only that it’s the only way you can set the brightness manually on any of the apps using the native features of the device.
